What our people say:

Although I have expertise as a Tournament Director, my principal role is the processing of results, in particular extracting and converting information from BBO and REALBRIDGE for publication on club websites. We have created a facility for publishing “live rankings” during events on BBO, and another for producing results for Multiple Teams events (including Teams- of-Eight).

I work with a group of other directors, and we all support bridge players with any problems they may have. This ranges from small technical issues to law rulings when an infraction has occurred.

Our directors are familiar faces in the bridge community.

I ‘ve been a TD in Portugal for 25 years now, currently NBO International TD and a BBO member since its early days and a BBO TD since 2004. Competent in six European languages, I work mostly in BBO during weekday mornings and afternoons. I like to welcome

newcomers

and recent club members, remind players of some basic rules

specific to

that tournament. I’ll announce any special information regarding

future

tournaments. As soon as the tournament is over, I also

announce the top scorers. I am generally a happy person and try

to

spread that happiness by bringing out the best in others.

The

iBEx team are all working every week with club players face to face or

online,

as well as travelling to the four corners of the world to bring bridge

games to life for holidays and international competitions in ways that transform the game.

At IBEx we offer a personalised experience for your members and your club.

Everyone is trained to bring world class practices local for a rounded, balanced approach in more than one market.

Sometimes we get a chance to fill-in as hosts – perhaps a board or two for an absentee partner, it may be a session with a player in the partnership desk. It’s great to be able to down tools and play a bit! We also find partners or give robots an outing.

It is an adventure working with multiple currencies every day. Some days start with buying USD dollars to load to player accounts, and finish with sending tournament profits & prizes in Euros. Yet rarely does cash pass through my hands any more.

I love my role adding new registrations to the event web pages– it’s really satisfying watching the table numbers grow daily, and seeing familiar names return again and again and again to play. We must be doing something right!

Our providers have reshaped the tools for playing bridge – together with our clients we are transforming bridge event success. We don’t just ask can we? We put our heads together, prove the concept, build the prototype and stretch, test and break ahead of every new tournament – for us it can’t be done means they haven’t talked to us yet!
